20/52: Shopgirl

20/52: Shopgirl by Steve Martin, 2/5 Stars
I feel like Martin is having an Easton Ellis kind of day... or perhaps, the world is simply full of people that have no idea how to discover their purpose, or their path, or even what it is that truly makes them happy. And when I say happy, I mean happy in the sense of a happiness that isn't dependent upon taking advantage of anyone else; the kind of happiness that allows you to sit cross-legged on the couch and smile while staring at the walls because the truth of the moment is inside of you, not external to you. Anyhow, I couldn't really get into this book, but it is a quick read and would spark a conversation among those who have read it.
