Book #46 = "The Shack" by William Young, 3/5 Stars
Mack's conversation with Sarayu at the end of the book really saved it from getting one or two stars, because the core of my own belief rests much on what she said: verbs are action, nouns are dead, rules don't answer emotional questions (and the emotional questions are the ones with the verbs in them), and this quote...
"Religion must use law to empower itself and control the people they need in order to survive. I give you an ability to respond and your response is to be free to love and serve in every situation, and therefore each moment is different and unique and wonderful."
Aside from that, I felt that Mack needed a gentle bonk on the head to shake himself out of the fog of being such a simpleton, but maybe that's why this book resonates with much of America.
