Love at First Laugh
Image by State Library of New South Wales collection via Flickr
and you know--
you just know--
that you want that sound
in your life.
As often as possible.
The sound,
love at first...
laugh.
Because there's comfort enough,
for doubled-over,
knee-slapping,
soda-out-the-nose
hilarity.
The best medicine.
Thank you, ma'am,
may I have another...
smile in a snapshot?
Pour our hearts out,
arms entwined,
toast to two cups of love.
LAST CALL!
"When I drink this,
it'll be with me forever."
To go.
"I know," she agrees,
and pounds her cup.
"No time like the present," I say,
and drink it down.
"Ready?" I ask,
Her answer comes in a tightly wrapped
arm around my own.
"Thank you," she whispers,
and I feel her heart closer to mine.

Book Update: Loooooooove!
Spent a few hours making edits that were provided by a friend of the family... like six months ago. And, her version was really old, so it was a PITA to locate the sections and determine if they'd already been rewritten. Oh well, edits are edits--all good!
Now, if I could just get my Editor TO WORK! (said in the hope that he's checking my blog... I know, I know, saving kids' lives.)
I've not been feeling that great lately, and it may have been because my body was telling me to get back to work on the first book, instead of blowing out thousands of words on the next two. Maybe? Ya think? I hope... feeling like arse stinks.
Stay warm, my friends.

Dear Solemn...
Dear Solemn,
I thought of you today, sober and serious, as I lay sprawled out on the floor watching a movie about a man whose finest hour was one in which he admitted his failures. I must admit that having you on my mind didn’t make me smile, not at all, nary a chuckle, giggle, or laugh crossed my mind.
But don’t get me wrong; you are sometimes missed. Without you, I would not cherish the feeling that your antonyms provide. So, I can only do the most somber thing that comes to mind—thank you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, and will thank you to the grave, for giving us a place from which we can crawl out of or climb back from. Without the ability to crash, we’d never be able to miraculously survive.
You are important to us—don’t you forget it.
Sincerely,
BBB

Books 44, 45, 46... Six to go!
Book #46 = "The Shack" by William Young, 3/5 Stars
Mack's conversation with Sarayu at the end of the book really saved it from getting one or two stars, because the core of my own belief rests much on what she said: verbs are action, nouns are dead, rules don't answer emotional questions (and the emotional questions are the ones with the verbs in them), and this quote...
"Religion must use law to empower itself and control the people they need in order to survive. I give you an ability to respond and your response is to be free to love and serve in every situation, and therefore each moment is different and unique and wonderful."
Aside from that, I felt that Mack needed a gentle bonk on the head to shake himself out of the fog of being such a simpleton, but maybe that's why this book resonates with much of America.

Evolution of Blog
I archived my blog posts the other night, backing them up in word documents that serve as storage for poetry, -isms, dreams, and quips. Someday, should I want to turn them into books, they will be much easier to work on from those docs. While doing so, I noticed that it has undergone quite a change from my first post, which took place on March 18, 2004. It said:
My new passion, not my old passion.
And, I must say, I like it this way--thoughts on life and love--so much more than the old way.
Thank you for your continued reading!
"Aces in the world, but sometimes difficult to find and sometimes the ace you find is 'The Bullet.'"At the time, it was an anomaly, most of the posts following it were funny things on the web, marketing articles, or thoughts about ad campaigns that I saw in the world. Now, I'm actually writing, not pointing at other places.
My new passion, not my old passion.
And, I must say, I like it this way--thoughts on life and love--so much more than the old way.
Thank you for your continued reading!
